Based in Irvine, CA, we are seeking highly passionate, skilled and experienced Embedded Software Engineers with expertise in Linux BSP, device driver development, and debugging to join our dynamic and innovative team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining embedded software solutions for our cutting-edge video products. Your primary focus will be on Linux-based systems, device driver development, including for custom hardware, and ensuring the overall system stability and performance. Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions for Linux-based systems.
Write device drivers to ensure seamless interaction with hardware peripherals.
Design and implement various communication protocols, including REST and gRPC, to facilitate efficient data exchange.
Manage build systems for various software projects.
Establish and maintain build servers to automate the build and deployment process.
Collaborate closely with software and hardware engineers to seamlessly integrate components.
Debug and troubleshoot issues related to embedded Linux systems to ensure robust performance.
Optimize system performance and memory footprint for embedded devices, enhancing overall efficiency.
Develop and maintain shell scripts, Python scripts, and C/C++ code for system configuration, automation, and application development.
Write unit and functional tests to ensure system functionality.
Keep up to date with open-source software to improve existing software and expedite development processes.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
3-5 years demonstrable experience as an Embedded Linux Engineer or in a similar role.
Proven experience launching embedded products using a software development lifecycle process.
Strong knowledge of Linux internals and extensive experience with embedded Linux development.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
Strong programming skills in C/C++ tailored for embedded systems.
Familiarity with Docker and containerization technologies.
Ability to proficiently write device drivers and kernel modules for embedded Linux systems.
Understanding serial communications, networking protocols and services implemented in Linux.
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
Familiar with Agile methodologies
Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Experience with video streaming is a bonus.
