Electronics Technologist/Sr. Electronics Technologist

Job Description
We have an opening for an Electronics Technologist/Sr. Electronics Technologist. You will provide engineering technician support to a team responsible for executing experiments in the large explosive firing tanks and/or research guns in the High Explosives Applications Facility (HEAF) in Livermore, CA. This position is in Operations with the Strategic Deterrence (SD) Directorate.
This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.
This position will be filled at eitherlevel based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.
In this role, you will
Setup diagnostics per experimentalist’s requirements.
Operate electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes/digitizers, power supplies, high speed cameras, delay generators, temperature controllers, etc.) for experiment execution and data acquisition.
Provide general electronic technical support to Engineers, Scientists, and other technical staff to plan and conduct experiments.
Design and/or fabricate moderately complex electronic systems.
Author and/or maintain systems documentation and experimental records.
Perform facility related technical functions such as maintenance, testing, and upgrades to equipment.
Ensure that support and experimental areas are kept clean, uncluttered, and in a state of readiness.
Recognize and support plans to promote and foster a culture of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accountability within the workplace.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional job responsibilities, at the 531.3 level
Provide advanced electronic technical support to Engineers, Scientists, and other technical staff to plan and conduct experiments.
Design, fabricate, and assemble complex electronic components and systems.
Identify, analyze, and provide solutions and alternate approaches to complex electronic problems using independent creativity and judgment.
