Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Electronics Engineer (Communications) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The successful candidate will be part of a comms and network infrastructure engineering team that manages and maintains critical pieces of payload infrastructure vital to program success.
This position will be located in Rancho Bernado, CA or Palmdale, CA depending upon the selected candidate’s preference.
Travel for this position is expected to be up to 25%.
Responsibilities Include:
Managing and supporting system performance in an operational environment during critical program testing
Maintaining network critical hardware across the enterprise to ensure configuration management per released program documentation
Supporting acceptance testing of comms and network subsystems in support of program deliverable production
Reporting subsystem status to comms networking infrastructure team lead for upward program communication
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of related engineering experience;
OR a Master's Degree ina STEM discipline with 0 years of related engineering experience
Experience with network infrastructure
Active DoD Top Secret security clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in electronics integration and testing
Familiarity with common industry standards related to digital communications, such as MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, RS-232, IPv4/IPv6
Experience with Networking infrastructure at both the Layer 2 and Layer 3
Experience with RF based test equipment to include spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters
Active DoD Top Secret security clearance and active SAP clearance
Salary Range:
$87,200 - $130,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline;
however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
