Job Description
Hobart Food Machines is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of experience to focus on new product development in Troy, Ohio. Hobart Food Machines is part of Illinois Tool Works, and is a recognized leader among commercial food equipment worldwide. The selected candidate will report to the Engineering Manager - Food Machines. This is a key growth position within the Food Machines engineering team and will work with all products across the business.
This position requires the development of electrical and electro-mechanical systems as part of the NPD team. It requires effective communication with engineers, suppliers, contractors, designers, technicians, and other stakeholders to effectively execute project deliverables.

Major Responsibilities
Assess food machines (e.G. slicer, mixer, meat saw, etc.) requirements and develop relevant integrated system architectures which enable subsystem communication, power distribution, and control.
Develop next generation Food Machines systems including motor control circuits, interface circuits, display control circuits, VFD’s, HMI’s, safety interlocks.
Work with contractors, suppliers and team members as needed to meet design requirements and fulfill cost, schedule, quality, agency, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements.
Develop proof of concepts and prototypes throughout the development process using rapid prototyping options such as quick turn PCB’s, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, programmable relays, PLC’s, etc.
Drive design, design reviews, integration, assembly, prototype builds, and test efforts.
