About the Role:
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will Engineer and Design custom electrical and electronic controls and equipment to operate Eriez product lines to satisfy customer material processing requirements with an emphasis on PLC and HMI design.
Responsibilities:
Review sales orders with immediate supervisor to identify the required engineering calculations to ensure a reliable design
Modify existing equipment designs based on customer requirements and perform the necessary engineering calculations to ensure reliable operation in the field
Create schematics for new/modified equipment using AutoCAD software and produce production drawings as required in accordance with UL 508A and the National Electrical Code
Assist Manufacturing with troubleshooting equipment issues on the shop floor and assist the Service Department troubleshooting equipment issues in the field
Learn multiple coding languages to program PLC’s and HMI’s for sophisticated control designs and processes. This includes Alen Bradly, Siemens, and various other code languages based on customer requirements
Develop PLC and HMI programs to operate Eriez equipment lines
Produce Installation, Operation, and Maintenance (IOM) documents for equipment
Assist in third party certification (UL, CSA, CE) for the Eriez product lines
Design and evaluate electro and permanent magnet circuits using existing Eriez programs and/or FEA analysis
Work on product improvement projects as defined by immediate supervisor and maintain a design notebook outlining improvements based on engineering calculations
Perform tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor under normal supervision
Requirements
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology
4-8 years of electrical engineering experience with emphasis in electrical control design for machinery and CAD experience
Ability to understand how a product is to function from a theoretical point of view and possess the ability to work on customer orders and assigned projects with supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to relay clear, concise information to supervisors and co-workers and designers
Possess the ability to design electro and permanent magnet circuits to satisfy customer requirements.
Willing to travel and work occasional overtime when necessary to ensure that deadline
Work overtime as necessary to maintain schedules
