Job Description:
Primary Function

The Drafting &
Quoting Manager, reporting directly to the VP Sales will be responsible for leading a team to accurately estimate job costs associated with manufacturing projects while ensuring safe, efficient operation of the manufacturing processes and procedures currently in place within F3 Metalworx, Inc. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop competitive bids and proposals while ensuring profitability and adherence to quality standards. Expectations of the Drafting &
Quoting Manager also include the management of MRP system transactions, creation of quality production quotes, and supporting a collaborative team among F3’s cross-functional departments while maintaining financial goals and expectations.

Job Description

Manage a team of quoting engineers to meet quoting &
drafting output goals
Maintain &
report quoting metrics;
Avg quote turn time, Win rate, OTD
Recommend and implement process improvements to the quoting process to increase throughput while maintaining accuracy
Creation of quotes for new and existing customers as needed
Analyze project specifications, drawings, and materials to accurately estimate manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead
Prepares and submits competitive bids and proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards
Effectively communicate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to address inquiries, provide cost breakdowns, and clarify project details
Identifies and assesses potential risks and challenges in manufacturing processes, providing recommendations to mitigate them

Education/Experience

Three (3) or more years of experience working in a drafting engineer role within an industrial, manufacturing or production environment handling sheet metal
Three (3) or more years of experience with ERP systems and AutoCAD/Inventor
Two (2) or more years of MRP system data input preferred
Proficiency with computers, websites, and other standard software
Experience programming various types of CNC machinery is a helpful bonus, but not required

Skills &
Qualifications

Basic knowledge of sheet metal fabrication
Ability to read and draft blueprints and technical documents
Understanding of engineering concepts;
tolerance stacking, bend deductions, etc.
Understanding of machine (Laser/Punch/Brake) programming a plus (TruTops preferred)
