We develop, own, and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes. We implement a broad array of scattered-site, one-on-one supportive housing, and clinical case management programs through partnerships with developmental services, homeless services, veterans’ services, and health care sectors.

Program Summary
The Brilliant Corners Supportive Housing Development Program launched in 2008 and quickly became California’s largest housing partner in the historic shift from institutional settings to community-based housing for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). In 2019, SHD formed its multifamily development program with the goal of expanding our housing impact across the State through multifamily developments.
Position Summary
The Development Project Manager (DPM) reports to the Director of Multifamily Housing Development or designated staff and is responsible for leading the development of multiple permanent supportive development projects at any given time. This is position is based in Southern California but may be involved in developments statewide.
The DPM will be engaged with a variety of external and internal development partners to ensure successful project completion, positive stakeholder relationships are maintained, and full cost coverage is achieved. With support from the Director, the DPM will also be responsible for project management tools such as development budgets, schedules, milestone checklists, acquisition and renovation criteria, task lists, contact lists, bid documents, narrative descriptions/reports, and community outreach materials.
Responsibilities
Oversight of multifamily development projects through various stages of development including site identification and feasibility analyses, acquisition, construction loan closing, entitlements, construction, lease-up, and conversion
Remain current on knowledge of key funding and regulatory guidelines for affordable and permanent supportive housing, including but not limited to Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Section 8, MHP and other HCD programs, and other local and state funding sources
Maintain, modify, and perform sensitivity analyses on project proformas in accordance with funding regulations and to ensure feasibility
Create and manage development project schedules and budgets
Lead and coordinate with external project team including architect, general contractor, and other consultants as needed
Act as liaison with external project stakeholders, including funding partners, public agency representatives, and community stakeholders
Preparation and submission of project funding applications and responses to RFP/QS
Collaborate with other BC departments such Finance, Case Management, and Asset Management
Requirements
Professional Experience
A minimum of two years of work experience in affordable or permanent supportive housing development. Understanding of development terminology, design, entitlements and permits, construction, finance and budgeting.
Knowledge of and experience with LIHTC and other state and local financing sources
Experience with public sector financing housing agencies, public sector construction projects, and housing organizations is a plus;
Experience in general real estate development or with an affordable housing investment or lending firm will be considered

Physical Requirements
Candidates should have physical mobility for tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces. They should be capable of performing stationary tasks like sitting for up to 6 to 8 hours a day. Additionally, candidates should be able to lift, carry, push, pull light to moderate weights up to 15 pounds safely. Requires mental acuity for analytical reasoning and document interpretation.
