Day Porter position at KCTCS in Versailles, KY 30 hours per week;
11am to 5pm Monday through Friday
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for his/her actions at all times. He/she is responsible for carrying out all assigned task written or verbal and taking the initiative whenever necessary to see that certain tasks are completed with limited supervision.
Keeps campus area in clean and orderly condition between scheduled detailed cleaning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
Sweeps floor. Spot sweeps carpet.
Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
Dusts furniture and equipment.
Polishes metalwork.
Washes soiled areas of walls and woodwork
Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
Replenishes bathroom supplies.
Requests additional cleaning services be performed.
Reports cleaning emergencies.
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Less than high school education;
or up to one month related experience or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions, and to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
