Description:

Connelly School of the Holy Child is looking to hire a Dance Teacher to join our vibrant performing arts program. The instructor will be responsible for teaching and training a dynamic group of students (Grades 6-12) in a range of techniques and dance styles, ensuring that all students are engaged, motivated, and inspired to achieve their goals in their chosen area of dance. The dance teacher would also support the Middle School and Upper School Musicals as Choreographer.
Responsibilities:

· Teach various dance styles and methodologies from beginner to advanced level
· Develop dance curriculums and prepare lesson plans.
· Choreograph routines and for select programs for recitals, assemblies, and showcases.
· Program annual Dance Concert to showcase all dance classes
· Choreograph for the school productions (Middle School and Upper School Musical)
· Communicate with a diverse group of teachers, administrators, and students.
· Engage, encourage, and motivate students to reach their goals.
· Evaluate student performance and make recommendations for improvement.
· Join the dance festivals presented by AIMS and the Independent Dance Network
· Respond to the needs of Holy Child, including service learning, advisory program, assigned supervision and other duties as assigned.
· An active commitment to enhancing our school community through involvement on committees and in student life activities.
· Effective and consistent communication with students, parents, staff, and community.
· Develop, select, and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a diverse population.
· Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of young women.
Requirements
· Bachelor's Degree in Dance or qualification from an accredited college
· Master’s Degree (preferred)
· Previous teaching experience required
· Build culturally responsive classroom that fosters a sense of belonging and ensures that all students feel respected and challenged
· Excellent communication skills
· Energetic, driven, creative, and dependable
· Demonstrate patience and leadership skills
