Summary:
The CT Lead Technologist purpose and function is to be an advanced, experienced user of the CT scanner and will demonstrates mastery of all hospital or clinical level imaging competencies. CT Lead Technologist is responsible for coordinating patient scheduling and daily work assignments, and serves as a resource for the technologists in the CT Department. CT Lead Tech will coordinate training and development of the CT Technologists, keeping them advised of technological and procedure changes. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organizations mission, values and culture.
CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Medical Center (CSRH-MC), located in the South Texas Medical Center, provides a high-level of care through compassionate hands, experience physicians, and advanced technology, including the da Vinci Surgical Robot System and the Mako™ Robotic-Arm Assisted System. Services at the 178- bed facility include Acute Care of the Elderly Unit, cardiology, diabetes care, emergency care, general surgery, kidney transplantation at the CHRISTUS Transplant Institute, orthopedics, outpatient rehabilitation and aquatic therapy, Senior Behavioral Health Center, urology, and the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center.
Responsibilities:
- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies:
Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Maintain consistency with Administrative and Departmental policies with appropriate behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability.
- Be able to manipulate, move images, annotate, and QA exams proficiently. Follow PACS downtime procedures when needed. Report any problem or issue to the PACS Administrator or his designee.
- Observe radiation, personnel, and patient safety measures.
- Troubleshoots and reports any equipment malfunctions to Director/Manager and/or Bio-medical personnel.
- Must be able to be operate ALL workstation functions.
- The CT Tech Lead Tech must be able to assist other CT Techs in their growth and will play an integral part in the certification of the CT Tech with regards to their competency requirements.
- Coordinates and prioritizes procedures during the workday to maintain a high level of patient care and continuity.
- Must ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and standards as deemed appropriate by State and Federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities.
- Demonstrates adherence to the Core Values of CHRISTUS Health.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required
2 years of CT experience in a Hospital or Clinical setting required
4 years of CT experience in a clinical Imaging setting preferred
Registered by the (ARRT) American Registry of Radiologic Technology required
Registered by the (ARRT) American Registry of Radiologic Technology in CT is required within 1 year of employment
Current state Licensure required
Current BLS (American Heart Association) required
