Job Description
The Director of Global Corporate Communications will support efforts to advance the company’s reputation around the globe. This position will support key communications functions vital to Visa’s reputation, including media relations efforts, financial communications, executive communications and corporate storytelling. The ideal candidate is a team player, thrives in a fast-paced work environment, has superior written and verbal communications skills, is social media savvy, and maintains strong relationships in the press. This individual is expected to:
Manage major projects/initiatives in cross-functional work environment.
Support key financial communication activities around Earnings, investor conferences, M&
A and Visa’s annual report.
Develop media relations strategies focused on high-level placements in print, broadcast, and online channels to increase company visibility.
Build connections with key media organizations and journalists through a mix of traditional, digital, and social channels.
Ensure that communication efforts serve immediate and long-term business goals.
Forecast news cycles and identifying areas of trending public interest.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Visa’s core corporate communications functions and cross functional partners, including investor relations, Visa Ventures and Visa Business and Economic Insights.
Support the identification, development, pitching and placement of Visa-related stories in top tier business, consumer and financial media worldwide, in print, digital and broadcast outlets.
Develop and cultivate media relationships within top-tier press globally.
Drive a proactive data driven storytelling and media relations program.
Manage, direct and respond to incoming corporate media inquiries.
Correspond cross-functionally to maintain various Visa fact sheets and corporate information.
Support various communications initiatives and efforts including corporate awards and recognition, policy and process ownership.
Responsible for the development, execution and oversight of strategic executive visibility plans for Visa’s executive committee members.
Research, maintain, grow and refine the Visa external events calendar and using key data and KPIs to refine the overall mix of executive visibility efforts.
Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with colleagues on the broader global communications team, including regional communications teams, product communications team, employee communications team and brand &
marketing.
The role reports to the Head of Global Corporate Communications and is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
