Job Overview:
My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior cost Accounting Manager to join their team in Charleston, SC. The ideal candidate will have a strong cost accounting background and recommend and implementcost control measures. This is a full-time, direct-hireposition with competitive salary and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the company's cost accounting processes, including cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
- Develop and implement cost control measures to ensure efficient use of company resources
- Manage a team of cost accountants and provide guidance and support to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key cost drivers and variances
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and improve business processes and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Ensure compliance with all accounting standards and regulations
- Continuously evaluate and improve the company's cost accounting policies and procedures
- Train and develop team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in cost accounting
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a managerial role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles
- Proficient in cost accounting software and MS Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Detail-oriented and able to meet tight deadlines
