The Controller will manage the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and leadership, with a focus on improving financial processes and supporting strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.
Reporting and oversight of tax preparation
Accounting Operations:
Manage the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
Oversight and ability to do daily reporting requirements per industry requirements
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasts.
Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Internal Controls:
Develop and implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
Monitor and evaluate internal controls to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
Team Leadership:
Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Other Duties:
Coordinate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
Experience in public accounting and/or in a similar industry is a plus.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Working Conditions:
Office environment with occasional travel required.
Extended hours may be necessary during peak financial periods.
