Job Description
As a Continuous Improvement Leader, you will be responsible for identifying and completing projects and key initiatives through the use of Lean, Six Sigma, and Project Management process improvement methodologies. You will work with senior leadership, managers, supervisors, engineering, and quality teams to ensure the Continuous Improvement program is deployed effectively. You will also work closely with the Regional Continuous Improvement Leader to identify and drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives that result in performance and customer satisfaction improvement.
The Continuous Improvement Leader will:
Develop Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies in the day-to-day operations.
Facilitate process improvement teams and provide counsel and assistance to the project teamleaders.
Ensure Lean and Six Sigma principles are appropriately taken into consideration at all stages ofprocess improvement projects.
Ensure through audits that tools are used appropriately and effectively.
Develop and maintain the plant’s annual 12-months rolling lean implementation plan based on thestrategic plan.
Promote the use of metrics and data to drive project focus.
Lead workshops resulting in tangible Key Performance Indicator improvements.
Contribute to the Continuous Improvement network development and ensure two-way communicationthroughout the continuous improvement organization.
Understand all environmental and safety policies and the significant impact of job activities.
Act as a change agent to instill a Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement culture.
The Continuous Improvement Leader should have:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to train on methodologies at alllevels of the organization.
A demonstrated understanding of Lean Principles (Value Stream Mapping, Just-In-Time,Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Kaizen, Statistical Problem Solving).
Thorough understanding of Lean Tools (Standardized Work, 5S, SMED, TPM, Kanban, MIFA, Error Proofing).
Thorough understanding of the DMAIC Methodology and key statistical methods commonly used in Six Sigma.
Strong facilitation skills and excellent interpersonal communication.
Proven ability to coach, mentor, and energize team members.
Demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment.
