The Continuous Improvement Engineer is a highly visible role and interfaces with all aspects of the organization and its systems, ranging from the quote process to final shipment. The Cone Drive leadership team has a long track record of embracing a lean culture, and this role is highly fostered by management.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement, waste removal, and cost reduction.
  • Planning, facilitating, and executing continuous improvement events using Lean Six Sigma tools.
  • Teaching, leading, and coaching cross-functional teams on Lean and continues improvement methodology.
  • Working to continuously improve processes both on the production floor as well as office by leading Kaizen events and collaborating with across multiple departments.
  • Lead education and mentoring to employees on Lean principles and techniques.
  • Establishes timelines and supports product design activities to ensure manufacturing processes are developed in parallel and taken into account to support customer requirements.
  • Applies lean manufacturing techniques to facilitate TAKT, flow, and pull, reduce waste, and support a continuous improvement culture.
  • Manages cost savings program.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field;
    engineering degree preferred, but not required.
  • 5+ years of experience in process, operations, and business optimization.
  • Three to five years' engineering experience in manufacturing preferred but not required.
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification.
  • Six Sigma - Certification preferred.
  • Strong facilitation &
    presentation skills;
    ability to relate to all levels of the organization and classifications of employees.
  • Experience driving cross functional teams.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office business software.
  • Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives.
