Container Yard Operator

Position Summary:

This position will manage and operate our container inventory in the yard to support the Logistics Center Operation &
Management by doing various aspects of Container Management, including gate activity, general office and yard upkeep, Trailer maintenance and repair management.

Responsibilities:
Manage container inventory and systemreconciliation
Perform daily yard planning and entry, in/out processing at 24/7 gate, and maintenance tasks
Work with truckers and actively be involved in yard operations
Complete Canada documentation and file paperwork
Manage container security and gate operations according to company safety policies
Utilize Standard Operating Procedures to resolve and correct problems
Promote ad hoc innovations to support outbound operation
Proactively work with carriers to prevent and resolve issues
Collaborate with other teams (Carrier Management, Transportation Management, and Settlement Management) to achieve the goals set by the company
Submit data to be utilized by management for statistics and reporting
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required;
Some College preferred
2 years of logistics and warehouse operations related experience preferred
Flexible with work hours;
Must be willing to workfrom 10am-7pm or 11am-8pm and able to work overtime including weekend as needed
Work day – Monday to Friday, Tuesday to Saturday if flexibility is an option
Ability to lift 50lbs and perform physical movement including standing, crouching, and walking up to 2 miles for daily work activities
Able to work in the yard and climb up and down the trailers
Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy with details and organization skills
Good oral and written communication skills, ability to draft and edit documents
Proficiency if not knowledge with Microsoft Office applications:
Excel, Word, Outlook
Know how to printer/computer basic trouble shooting a plus but not required
Bilingual in Spanish required

Your base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This allows you to progress as you grow and develop within the position. The base pay range for this role is between $20.00~$24.00 per hour, and your base pay will depend on your skills, education, qualifications, experience, and location.
