Sigma Defense is a Computer Scientist to support Army Network Modernization CONUS and OCONUS with a primary place of performance at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The Computer Scientist will leverage data and apply expert technical knowledge in the development and test of new network software, support evaluation of software updates in terms of capability and network impact and perform trend analysis to create solutions for our customer.
The ideal candidate is able to travel to U.S. Army bases CONUS and OCONUS 20% of the time to support post-development software support. This candidate should have 10+ years of broad computer science computation theory and a wide range of coding skills (such as Python, C++, Ruby, and Perl), algorithms, and cyber security skills. The candidate should have experience in on-premise and cloud networking topologies, and experience in Agile software development practices.
This is a contingent position that is pending award of contract. This means that the position is subject to the successful awarding of a contract and will be confirmed once the contract is finalized. The candidate selected for this role will be offered the position on the condition that the contract is awarded to our organization. Determination on award of contract is targeted for 2025.

Requirements
10+ years of relevant experience, and a desired 5+ years of experience in DoD contracting market of major network systems product development and acquisition.
Experience in on-premise and cloud networking topologies.
Experience in Agile software development practices.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related field of study.
Personnel Clearance Level:
Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active, DoD issued Secret security clearance.
A clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.

Software experience specific to networks.
Essential Job Responsibilities (not all-inclusive)
Develop new products and solve practical computing problems.
Conduct research involving experimentation and modeling to test new theories.
Work with other functional groups to solve problems and create new products.
Develop and design software, hardware, and networks.
Write new programming software and or code.
Analyze, create, and revise computer algorithms.
Upgrade and update computer systems or programs.
Refine computer systems and hardware to improve efficiency and speed.
Write software test and plans and analyze test results.
Investigate network issues.
Provide post-deployment for systems in order to identify and evaluate applicable Information Assurance Alert (IAVA) and other software anomalies.
Prepare and deliver Software Version Description Documents.
Salary Range:
$120,000 - $150,000 annually.
