Medical Lab Scientist I FT Nights Position Summary:
The Medical Technologist maintains technical and quality assurance standards and procedures for the Clinical Laboratory. Performs qualitative and quantitative analyses in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and/or Microbiology to obtain data used by pathologists and physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Provides quality customer service through ongoing interface and frequent communication with patients, physicians, hospital staff and management. Supports efforts to implement change and foster teambuilding. Understands and contributes to the vision/mission and goals of the Clinical Laboratory.

THE MEDICAL LAB SCIENTIST I FT NIGHTS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

EDUCATION
Required:
Bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Required:
Certification by ASCP, NCA, AMT or HEW.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred:
One (1) year hospital related experience
Knowledge Required:
Regulatory and accreditation requirements
Preferred:
Continuous Quality Improvement Process related health care standards and practices.
Technology Required:
Basic computer skills, personal computer applications, and awareness of current use of technology in related field
Other Required:
Must be able to work variable shifts, weekends and/or holidays as required;
must be able to respondto emergencies and call backs. Must be able to transport self.
