Civil Design Engineer

Client is afull service civil and environmental engineering firm based out of Fullerton, CA, USA
Looking for Civil DesignerProficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Tasks and Responsibilities
· Prepare project concepts through final design plans and quantities for PS&
E bid packages
· Solve design problems using engineering calculations and following general design standards
· Prepare engineering reports related to civil site improvements, storm drainage, water quality, water distribution and transmission systems, pumping systems, pipe lines, utilities, streets and roadways, bikeways, sanitary sewer collection systems, and water and wastewater facilities
· Prepare project drawings/designs in AutoCAD Civil 3D
· Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to establish horizontal and vertical alignments, profiles, cross sections, and perform earthwork calculations
· Serve on project teams under the supervision of CWE Project Managers
· Complete assignments on time and within budget and achieve firms quality objectives
· Interact with municipal and private clients
· Interact with multi-discipline and multi-office teams
Required Competencies and Qualifications
· BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or equivalent.
· 5+ years of experience in civil engineering design
· 2 years in public works design
· Ability to work on a variety of engineering projects including civil site improvements, surface water, water infrastructure, and land development projects including grading, drainage analysis, storm drain systems, water distribution, sewage collection, street design, and street widening
· Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D
· Knowledge of typical hydrologic/hydraulic models
· Ability to work with Topographic base survey data.
· Ability to communicate clearly and provide strong support for design projects involving plans and specifications
· Ability to pay attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
· Demonstrates a strong work ethic
· Proactive approach/self-starter/takes initiative/positive attitude/team player
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.G. Word, Excel)
· Ability to kneel, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs
· Valid California drivers license and insurable driving record
COMPENSATION CAN NEGOTIATED BASED ON EXPERIENCE.Client doessome private land development work, but mostly works on the public infrastructure side. Primarily public right of way, utilities, roadways. Focused on damns, reservoirs andrivers.
