Soccer Stars has been in the youth soccer business for over 22 years and have been recognized as the largest operating program in the US.
POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Support operations to maximize productivity and efficiency of the Soccer Stars coaching team, as well as to ensure that all coaches act in accordance with Soccer Stars philosophies and procedures.
Salaried part time position (5-10 hours a week) intended to supplement role as an hourly Soccer Stars class coach (20 hrs a week)
Reports to Region General Manager
Responsible for Coaching staff onboarding, training and supervision
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Represent a position of ambassador, to mentor and guide the coaching team
Supervise and evaluate coaches to ensure the overall quality of the program
Mentor and develop all coaches at all levels
Filter and relay coach feedback
Have immediate discussions whenever possible with coaches about their performance face-to-face or via telephone and email
Develop and implement monthly coach training and execute coach training timeline
Observe coaches and input observations’ data into the coaching development review forms
Monitor, supervise, and record training activities and program effectiveness
Build and maintain positive relationships with coaches and instructors to ensure staff welfare
Liaise with parents and caregivers to receive feedback on staff performance and the program content
Ensure curriculum is always implemented in accordance with Soccer Stars quality standards
Staffing:
Fill urgent coaching needs daily and oversee all scheduled events (on location or remotely)
Scan schedule for the following days and coming weeks to ensure schedule is fully staffed and in accordance with Soccer Stars child-to-coach ratios and appropriate coaching levels
Ensure coordination of weekday and weekend schedule is seamless
Ensure consistency with our product by staffing coaches for entire seasons
Manage schedules for all coaches;
ensure these employees time is being maximized
Communicate directives effectively to coaching staff
Coordinate with General Manager in analyzing and assessing the schedule to plan for future season
Marketing/Outreach:
Continually promote and help advertise the Soccer Stars brand
Assist with flyering, demo classes, festival booths, or any grassroots marketing
Maintain mutually beneficial relationships with schools, recreation departments, community centers, partnership programs, and other facilities through supervision, coaching, and effective communication
Develop, implement and evaluate recruitment strategies to perpetuate the quality and quantity of coach and instructor applicants in all Soccer Stars programs
Administrative:
Identify, developing and assessing sources of quality coaching candidates
Write lesson plan activities during the observations in order to enrich the class curriculum
Review and screen potential candidates through the interview process
Guide new hires through New Hire paperwork and the stages of their coaching development
Continually identify coach performance and promote and demote as necessary
Keep track of performance and frequency in fulfilling Soccer Stars quality
Help complete and update quality coaches training curriculum (Yearly Training Program)
Identify assistant coach &
coach of the season selection
Continually evaluate the effectiveness of trainings and develop new engaging training methods
Equipment:
Maintain records of equipment movement throughout the region
Perform routine audits of locations to ensure inventory and quality of equipment, as well as maintenance and upkeep of facilities
Communicate equipment needs to head office to ensure a timely delivery
Project Work:
Lead sections of the seasonal Kick-Off meetings with the Regional Coordinator
Coordinate with General Manager to approve purchasing, disbursement, and inventory of program equipment
Coaching Duties:
(Based on seasonal class schedules and paid at hourly rate)
Use Soccer Stars curriculum to deliver high-quality instruction to children and families
Teach an energetic and motivating class, connect and challenge each child, and help them to accomplish motor development goals. Effectively and clearly communicate issues to the office and provide solutions.
Equipment set-up and break-down.
Provide hands-on individual and group attention to children.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will:

Have experience in a leadership or management position (volunteering included)
Have sales experience
Be familiar with the google suite of products (Gmail, Calendar, Drive)
Enjoy/ and or have experience working with kids or in childcare of any kind (volunteering included)
Be energetic and growth minded
The minimum requirements for this job are:

Must pass a background check
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be available Saturday mornings 8am-1 pm
Must be able to move around, use coaching equipment, and keep with kids during classes
Willing and able to work 30-40 hours of work per week
