Job Description:

Dedicated local drivers enjoy the many privileges that come with having consistent customers. Unlike some driver positions, this one gives you a better idea of the number of miles and hours each week holds, which means you'll have a better idea of what to expect in every paycheck. And because you know your customers and their typical freight load, you'll never be surprised or slowed down by unusual shipments.

• Competitive pay:
  
  • Average $1,285 per week/$68,000 per year
  • Starting pay .50 cpm
  • Top pay of .515 cpm reached within 6 months
  • Average of 1,800 miles per week
  • Stop pay of $27.50 per stop
    • Average 14 stops per week
  • Detention, breakdown, and layover pay available
• Home daily;
  start between 2 a.M - 4a.M. and end between 2 p.M.
  - 4:
  30 p.M.
• Monday - Friday with some weekends
• Hook to your preloaded trailer to make deliveries of pet supplies within a 250-400 mile radius of Ennis and locations in Oklahoma and Central/ South Texas
• The freight is no-touch, the customer unloads at time of delivery
  • Loads are a mix of drop and hook and live unload;
    bump the dock but nevertouch the freight
• Will need to secure both loaded trailers and empty pallet trailers with straps provided
• Occasional overnight to South Texas in sleeper unit;
  occasional weekend workavailable
• New Volvo and Freightliner tractors (parked at customers location in Ennis, TX)

• Must live within a 75-mile radius
• Minimum of 1 year verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the past 3 years
• Must have Class A CDL
• No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
• No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years.
• No suspensions or revocations within the last 5 years.
• No serious violations within the previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too close, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with fatality)
• No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
• No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years

Essential functions:

• Open/Close Trailer Doors - force requirement:
  46 lbs
• Count freight
• Complete fuel tickets
• Obtain sales leads
• Hook/Unhook trailer - force requirement:
  90 lbs (Class A Only)
• Perform pre-trip inspections
• Drive
• Regular predictable attendance
• Enter/Exit a Commercial Motor Vehicle
• Enter/Exit the rear of a trailer from ground level
