Job Description:

Dedicated local drivers enjoy the many privileges that come with having consistent customers. Unlike some driver positions, this one gives youa better idea of the number of hours each week holds, which means you'll have a better idea of what to expect in every paycheck. And becauseyou know your customers and their typical freight load, you'll never be surprised or slowed down by unusual shipments.

As a Dedicated Local Truck Driver, you can expect:

• Competitive pay:
  
  • Average $1,508 per week/$78,416 per year
  • Starting pay of $29 per hour
  • Guaranteed 45 hours per week but average 50-55 hours a week
• Home every day!
• Leave Rochelle, IL each morning between 4 a.M. and 7 a.M. depending on the route
• Returning in the afternoon each day
• Coverage areas are IL, WI and IN
• Hook to pre-loaded trailers to start the day
• Deliver building material dry wall, lumber, etc. to retail and non-retail locations (some palletized)
• No touch freight, only need to strap the load
• Primarily pulling curtainside flatbed trailers with slight possibility of pulling a flatbed
• If tarping is required (inclement weather) will receive $10 per stop
• Provided hard hats and vests must always be worn when out of the truck on the property
• Steel toe shoes required, driver will need to purchase

• Must live within a 75-mile radius
• Must have 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 5 years
• Must have a Class A CDL
• Must be 21 years of age
• No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
• No convictions for DUI or DWI within the past 5 years
• No suspensions or revocations for a moving violation within the past 5 years
• No serious violations within previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with a fatality)
• No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
• No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years

• Move freight - force requirement:
  54 lbs
• Lift and move side kits -lift requirements:
  46 lbs
• Lift tarp - lift requirement:
  110 lbs
• Apply and remove tarp(s) on load
• Secure load with chains and hardware -lift requirements:
  80 lbs
• Climb onto and off of the flatbed trailer/load
• Count freight
• Complete fuel tickets
• Complete delivery receipt
• Hook/Unhook trailer - force requirement:
  90 lbs
• Perform pre-trip inspections
• Drive
• Extensive travel - ability to sit upright for extended periods of time
• Regular predictable attendance
