Cath Lab Tech

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) Technician to join our team. As a Cath Lab Technician, you will specialize in the cardiovascular system and work closely with patients and cardiologists during procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Preparation:
Prepare patients for procedures by taking vital signs, starting IVs, obtaining medical histories, and explaining the procedure. Provide emotional support and ensure that patients understand the process.
- Equipment Preparation:
Prepare the procedure room, ensure an adequate stock of supplies, sterilize instruments and catheters, calibrate pressure transducers and tubing, and set up catheterization trays.
- During Procedures:
Assist cardiologists with surgeries and other procedures, maintain and operate EKG equipment and real-time readouts, and prepare patients for angioplasty while anesthetizing the area.
- Other Responsibilities:
Perform EKG tests, assist with treadmill stress testing, complete blood pressure assessments, recognize cardiac arrhythmias, assist physicians during adverse reactions or emergencies, verify lab results, and educate patients about cardiology.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited cardiovascular technology program.
- Current certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide compassionate care and support to patients.
