Campus Minister

JOB SUMMARY:
The Campus Minister at Connelly School of the Holy Child is responsible for leading the
Spiritual life of the school for young women in grades 6-12, in the Catholic tradition.
This position reports to and collaborates with the Head of Mission and Ministry, and
Works collaboratively with the Associate Director of Mission and Christian Service,
Director of Community Engagement and Inclusion, Student Life and Religion
Departments.
This role is key to the mission of Holy Child and the Network of Schools across the
United States, with the goal to “foster a faith commitment that leads to a joyous
Personal relationship with God in addressing the realities of the world” within students
And members of the Holy Child community.
The primary responsibilities include:
Promoting the spiritual growth of students through liturgy, prayer and
Sacramental life;
Planning and leading all aspects of retreats for all grade levels six through
Twelve;
Fostering peer ministry opportunities and providing training for students at all
Grade levels to serve as prayer and retreat leaders;
Supporting the spiritual life and faith development of faculty and staff, parents,
And Holy Child alumnae through a variety of events and opportunities for
Spiritual growth.
QUALITIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
B.A./B.S. required;
Masters degree preferred.
Practicing Roman Catholic with experience working in diocesan, parish, nonprofit,
Or school-based ministry.
A deep understanding of and appreciation for Catholic faith and practice as well
As the mission of Catholic Education, with the ability to communicate that
Understanding and appreciation to diverse stakeholder groups, including those
From other faith traditions.
Successful candidates should have experience in the field of Catholic ministry,
Preferably working with students or youth, and a desire to support students’
Spiritual journey.
Commitment to a collaborative leadership and supervisory style.
Ability to manage concurrent projects and variety of student programming in a
Dynamic environment.
Ministerial and pastoral qualities in relating to the spiritual needs of students.
Capacity for handling confidential information with tact and discretion.
Organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage projects and events.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Teaching experience is an asset for this role, but not required.
Requirements
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans and leads spiritual retreats for each grade level across middle school and
High school divisions. With coaching, will lead Junior Kairos retreat in year 2.
Maintains relationships with retreat centers and coordinates logistics of
Transportation, meals, permission forms, supplies, and retreat accommodations.
Facilitates the sacramental life of the school by coordinating and preparing for
Priests to celebrate Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation on a frequent
Basis.
Plans for student-led prayer services for whole school community.
Recruits student leaders, facilitates collaborative work meetings, and implements
Student-led grade level Chapel times for middle school and upper school grades.
Creates and fosters leadership opportunities for students including liturgical and
Retreat ministries.
Supports spiritual programming for parents and alumnae.
Works with Head of Mission and Ministry and Visual and Performing Arts
Departments on schoolwide Masses and special prayer services.
Team-teaches Foundations and Skills for Ministry religion elective for Seniors.
Reports to and collaborates with the Head of Mission and Ministry for the
Responsibilities described here, as well as to support the Associate Director of
Mission and Christian Service and the Director of Community Engagement and
Inclusion.
Participates actively in the life of the school especially outside of the classroom
Through attendance at community events including in athletics, the arts, and
Campus ministry including outside of school time.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Hours are typically Monday-Friday 7:
45am-3:
45pm. Some night and weekend work is
Required, specifically a few Sunday Masses each year and all overnight student retreats.
This individual is required to drive the school van with students and/or packages and
Materials.
