We are looking for a highly motivated and self-starter intern to join our team! The Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CAM) works closely with state government, our academic institutions, and manufacturers to understand their needs and challenges and design programs that help them grow. We are a small team that does whatever it takes to get the job done! Are you interested in jumping in? You’ll work closely with our team and obtain varied experience in marketing, event planning, presentation development, industry collaboration, the working of state government and how to help drive economic growth and more.
Your responsibilities will include:
Events:
CAM is host to the Massachusetts Manufacturing Mash-up and the MassMakes Innovation Challenge. As an intern, you willwork with the Director of Manufacturing Education and our Sr. Program Manager to engage industry and educational partners to organize, plan, and help execute an exciting experience and memorable event for advanced manufacturing high school and community college students from around the Commonwealth. This candidate will also work to help staff this event through our targeted outreach, work with partners to cover student transportation, and other logistics to ensure this event is impactful.
You will also help organize and plan other events that engage and inspire young people forSTEM Week/Manufacturing Month.
Content Creation:
Will work with the Director of Manufacturing Education to develop a field trip booklet for the students at the Mash-Up.
Creating new classrooms in Google for each new Makers of a Better Future School, and populate each classroom with the curriculum, which includes:

assessments, assignments, and content material
Breaking” previous YouTube content and uploading identical video content to YouTube in conjunction with the Makers version update.
Manage contracting process for video acquisition/permission for Makers content.
Manage the production firm (on location), schedule, etc.
Taking new video content and making sure each video is closed captioned compliant.
Work with the Director of Manufacturing Education and others to prepare. Talent for filming sessions.
Support in editing drafts and final reports for MassBridgein collaboration with other CAM Staff.
Customer Relationship Management:
Manage new schools within the Google Classroom ecosystem.
Regular communication with district I.T., and educators to ensure ease of adoption.
Managing the whitelisting processbetween the new schools and the hosting district, which often includes multiple correspondences with various stakeholder in the process.
Marketing awareness curriculum in Northeast region by visiting conferences (such as MAVA, SkillsUSA, etc.)
Requirements
- Strong desire to learn along with professional drive.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (have used applications or taken course(s)) to create Excel spreadsheets and perform analysis and calculations, Office documents, PowerPoint presentations
- Create and work to a project plan to execute to high standards and deliver work on time
- Pursuing a degree in marketing, business, public policy or similar career field;
or equivalent work experience
Pluses
- Demonstrated capability with Adobe Creative Suite or similar to design flyers, social media posts.
- Interest in state government, public policy and how economic development works
- Participation in student professional organization, involvement in career development programs.
The expected start date is ASAP. The hired intern contractor will work 40 hours per week. The internship duration is for 6 months.
PLEASE NOTE:
THIS POSITION REQUIRES CANDIDATES TO BE ABLE TO WORK IN WESTBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS AT LEAST TWO DAYS PER WEEK. THIS IS NOT A FULL-TIME REMOTE POSITION.
