Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for a CAD Technician for their Vancouver, Washington location. This position is influential in facilitating CAD revisions of electrical drawings across the organization. In this role you will collaborate closely with electrical engineers and technicians to verify all marked up drawings are properly received, and revisions are completed accurately. $30.25 - 33.25, DOE

Vancouver, Washington - HYBRID - 1-2 days onsite per week
Key Responsibilities for CAD Technician:
Use MicroStation CAD software and/or other software applications to prepare project designs, sketches, final / working drawings, and draft contract documents related to construction design packages.
Perform sub-system user file management within CAD systems, such as plotting, printing, storage and retrieving, and returning drawings from ProjectWise.
Review rough/preliminary sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from engineers, to validate that they conform to design concepts.
Examine electronic schematics and supporting documents to develop, compute, and verify specifications for drafting data.
Provide quality design, layout, and production of engineering, electrical, electronic, and fiber optic drawings.
Assist in pre-engineering calculations and research to control product reliability and accuracy for engineering, technical, and commercial applications.
Perform assignments requiring expertise in computer-aided drafting using MicroStation CAD Software, including 3D.
Assist with special projects such as various installation diagrams, structure modifications, design drawings, standard hardware details, and others as required.
Travel to field sites to obtain and verify site-specific project layout information for the purpose of verifying design data and record revision. This will not include escorting.
Draft work that comes from Engineers, as well as field red lines by utilizing advanced CAD skills.
Develop / draft equipment rack layouts with minimal input from engineers.
Check all CAD and manually drafted drawings and other documents for drafting accuracy and completeness.
Provide Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) for Substation Redlined drawings.
Maintain CAD templates, including the template database and the associated SharePoint site.
Requirements/Qualification for CAD Technician:
High School Diploma or GED is required.
An associate or higher college degree in a technical CAD training program is preferred.
4 years of CAD drafting experience is required.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite software including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with MicroStation CAD software.
Experience with ProjectWise.
Ability to analyze and effectively document large volumes of technical data is essential.
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple work assignments and changing priorities.
Skill in oral and written communication to effectively fulfill client/customer/team requirements.
Experience participating in and performing effectively in a project team environment.
Previous experience working in the utility industry.
Proficiency with MS SharePoint to aid in updating group site with additional links to share data.
