Job Description
We have an opening for a Business Analyst to support the Nuclear Materials (NM) Program. You will be supporting Associate Program Leaders, programmatic subject matter experts, and project engineers to establish, improve, implement, and sustain processes, procedures, tracking and analytical tools, and record retention. This position supports the management, development, sustainment, maintenance, and use of containers for shipment, staging, and storage of nuclear materials. This position is in the Defense Technologies Engineering Division (DTED) supporting the Weapon Technologies and Engineering (WTE) Program.
This position may offer a hybrid schedule, blending in-person and virtual presence. You may have the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week.
This position will be filled at eitherlevel based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.
You will
Support the creation and management of unclassified and classified quality assurance and program-specific technical documents.
Apply related skills, policies, and procedures to identify program document control strategies to solve multi-faceted problems, implement new techniques and procedures, and formulate recommendations.
Assist in gathering data for the development of documents, editing, formatting, and updating services for program reports, quality implementing and operating procedures, webpages, presentations, data forms and other programmatic documentation. Ensure clarity of content, consistency of format and accuracy of grammar.
Support the tracking of container inventory and the scheduling of container maintenance and shipments.
Perform reviews and comparisons of proposed shipments against regulatory requirements by comparing material data against stated limits.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with personnel at all levels across the division.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional job responsibilities, at the E01.2 level
Research, analyze, define, develop, implement, and manage goals, processes, procedures, workflows, tools, and records to support projects related to nuclear material shipping packages and containers.
Identify, assess, define, and formulate improvement opportunities in automating and using new and existing business processes, workflows, and tools.
Translate existing safety and regulatory documents into engineering requirements related to nuclear material packages, containers, and shipments and implement them in LLNL processes and procedures.
