We work with a diverse population including co-occurring patients and we are currently seeking a behavioral health technician.
We are currently hiring for our newest location in Rancho Bernardo for our 6 bed adult residential site. The primary role of a behavioral health technician is to assist clinical and operations staff to ensure a seamless experience for clients.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
1 year full-time experience, or its part-time equivalent, working in a program serving adult persons with mental disabilities
Strong interpersonal skills
Have a valid driver’s license
Must be able to pass a live scan
Successfully complete drug screening, DMV, and comprehensive background check
Must be in good health, and shall be physically, mentally, and occupationally capable of performing assigned tasks
Ability to perform general housekeeping such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc.
Preferred candidates should have sound understanding of mental illness, co-occurring disorders and milieu therapy
Knowledge of records keeping (Kipu), documenting, and filing
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Observes residents to monitor activities and behavior, and documents notable behaviors, medical and medication behaviors, and rules violations. Provide one-to-one supervision for any patient at risk
Reinforce positive behaviors of clients, and promotes social interaction by conversing with them, participating in activities with them, etc.
Ensures a clean, safe, and secure environment conducive to behavioral changes based on program rules and regulations
Offer assistance with admissions and discharges, performing room moves, arranging transportation, delivering amenities as requested, and relaying accurate information from the clinical and administrative teams in a timely manner
Participates in the inspection of the residences for fire, safety, and maintenance purposes and conducts required scheduled fire and safety drills.
Relate professionally, ethically, and compassionately to clients, peers, and staff at all times
