Summary
The Banquet Captain supervises and assists in the service of banquet functions. Serve guests in a friendly, professional manner according to hotel standards working under the direction of the Banquet Manager. Prepare all pertaining paperwork.

Essential Job Functions
- Oversee the set-up of functions including checking of the physical layout of the room, providing the servers with the proper set-up information and posts updated function sheets in the banquet kitchen
- Conduct pre-service meetings with staff, attend monthly department meetings and in the absence of the banquet manager attend weekly event order meeting
- Oversee the service of the function assigned by the Banquet Manager to insure the success of the function and staff adherence to all service rules
- Meet individual hosts and make him/herself accessible to the host for any need that may arise
- Complete china, glass and silver requisitions
- Properly close all banquet checks and complete the captain’s logbook at the completion of the function
- Oversee the clean-up of all functions and insuring the proper removal and storage of hotel linen and skirting
- Report all incidents to the Banquet Manager
- Prepare and post daily room assignments for servers including specific times for set-up and service
- Prepare daily payroll statistical reports
- Oversee proper clean up, handling and storage of all props and specialty china
- Assist the Banquet Manager in the annual performance evaluations of the banquet servers
- Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation
- Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff
- Ensure the proper care, security and maintenance of hotel equipment through proper supervision of service personnel
- Constantly monitor the staff’s appearance, attitude and degree of professionalism.
- Responsible for assisting all team members in organization of kitchen items, to include, dry goods, kitchen equipment, storage containers, cleaning supplies and proper rotation and organization of all food deliveries
- Complete tasks and projects delegated by your Supervisor and assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand
- Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee handbook and departmental rules
- Report to shift on time
- Enforce and comply with all policies and procedures for the Food and Beverage Department, Limelight Hotels and the Aspen One
