Assistant Gardener - Twin Farms

Job Description
Twin Farms is seeking 1-2 farm hands for the 2024 season (May-October). This position will work alongside the farm manager to operate a small, intensive restaurant garden on the sprawling Twin Farms estate in Barnard, VT. An ideal candidate would possess the following skills + traits:
Some experience in vegetable + flower production
Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and perform tasks that may require kneeling, bending,squatting, etc.
Ability to work efficiently in all conditions
Willingness to perform repetitive tasks
Attention to detail
Must be able to work at least one weekend day
Most importantly- good communications skills, the ability to adapt as things come up,and a curiosity for what is possible
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assistance with all facets of vegetable and cut flower production- bed prep, planting, weeding, harvesting, wash/pack, delivery to kitchen, etc.
Hosting garden tours for guests
Animal chores- feeding, moving animal groups, egg washing, etc.
Assistance with pest and disease management
COMPENSATION
This position is hourly:
$15-20/hr
