Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The Assistant Controller will support the Controller in managing the accounting operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Controller in overseeing all aspects of the accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits.
Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
Oversee tax compliance and preparation of tax returns, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
Assist in managing cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions.
Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA certification required.
5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management roles.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Extensive experience with accounting software (e.G., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and ERP systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
