Assistant Controller with Real Estate Experience ($150,000 per year)

Are you an experienced accounting professional looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity? We're seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team in Boston, MA. This role offers a competitive salary range of $150k with a 25% bonus structure. This position is ideal for individuals ready to take ownership of funds and contribute to our dynamic accounting team.

Responsibilities:

Oversee assigned property and/or debt investment accounting staff.
Manage the monthly closing and consolidation process.
Analyze budget to actual results and discuss with senior executives.
Prepare and review quarterly financial statements and investor reports.
Ensure compliance with Fund/Account partnership agreements and investor side letters.
Manage investment management fee and incentive fee calculations.
Prepare joint venture waterfall calculations.
Manage preparation of capital accounts and returns calculations.
Calculate distributions and manage debt covenant compliance.
Oversee external audit process and manage third-party relationships.
Develop and manage performance reporting accounting staff.
Adhere to internal controls surrounding financial reporting and compliance.
Perform other ad hoc accounting duties as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience (7 preferred) in real estate or private equity industry.
Experience with financial statements preparation required.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Bachelor's degree in business administration required, accounting concentration preferred.
CPA license and public accounting experience preferred.
