Architectural Job Captain
The architectural job captain oversees the work of architects, engineers, and drafters, reporting progress and issues to the project manager. They ensure that the team stays on schedule and creates construction documents that conform to the requirements of the project manager and client.
The job captain creates documents including 3D BIM models, schematics, and construction drawings in support of to the project manager and clients for review. They receive suggestions and feedback on the work performed and then takes any necessary revisions back to the team to be executed. The job captain is also expected to ensure that work is completed on schedule and adheres to all budgetary constraints. The captain is likely to have input, if not total responsibility, for hiring new members to his or her team as well.
•Bachelor’s degree in related field (NCARB approved degree preferred)
•Strong Revit & AutoCAD experience
•Experience managing project deliver team(s)
•5 years’ experience as a job captain or similar role
•Strong technical understanding of building systems
•7 years’ experience lead project delivery teams
•NCARB registration career path (current registration not required)
