Job Description
AECOMis seeking an entry-level Archaeologist for part-time, on call employment based in the San Diego, CA area. This position will support our Cultural Services team within our Environment business line. This position is primarily a field position for survey and monitoring projects in the San Diego area, though travel throughout California and in other states may be required. Desktop work, including preparation of State of California Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) site forms, monitoring reports, and report sections will also be required.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Performing cultural resources monitoring, surveys, testing and data recovery, recordation of archaeological resources, and prepare supporting documentation.
Assisting with lab analysis, setting up and operating Geographic Information Systems (GIS) equipment, and maintaining proper field notes and equipment.
Recording field data and providing observation and interpretations of it.
Completing specific project tasks including the technical or logistical aspects of delivering specific components of a project’s scope, meeting with team members to gauge progress toward schedule, scope and budget.
