Position Purpose:
Responsible for reviewing, categorizing, planning and approving hazardous waste and non-hazardous waste material for receipt at Veolia’s TSDF, Fuels Blending and Reclaim facilities in accordance with federal and local waste acceptance and permit requirements. Will be reviewing, categorizing, planning, identifying and approving hazardous waste and non-hazardous materials for disposal at Veolia and third-party landfills, incinerators and energy recovery facilities in accordance with site capabilities, approved permits and appropriate regulatory requirements.
Primary Duties/responsibilities:
Develop a thorough understanding of disposal capabilities of TSDF, Fuels Blending and Reclaim facilities as they relate to the facilities waste acceptance plan (WAP) and Part-B permit requirements.
Develop a thorough understanding of local, state, and federal regulations regarding disposal and transportation of hazardous waste.
Review facility paperwork (i.E. Waste Profile Sheets(WPS), Supplemental Forms, Waste Acceptance Rveiw (WAR), etc.) manifests, inventories, for accuracy and completeness.
Identify deficiencies/discrepancies with profile sheet information and representative sample analysis in coordination with customer service, laboratory, and sales coordinators. Communicate with customers to resolve as required.
Complete and/or revise documents as necessary to execute or to update disposal decision.
Provide technical assistance to internal customers such as sales and customer service on matters such as site acceptability of waste streams, discrepancy resolution, and site permit requirements.
Identify and select appropriate analytical testing requirements for waste treatment and disposal.
Communicate with operations and environmental departments regularly regarding acceptance of material from the standpoint of permits, operations, and safety, and keep technical staff updated on any changes in acceptance conditions.
Receive and process requests for profile modifications efficiently and accurately. Contact internal and external customers to resolve issues during the modification process.
Evaluate reactive waste streams determine what hazards they may present.
Consult with internal resources including Health and Safety, Environmental, and Operations to ensure waste and materials can be safely managed, processed, stored and transferred.
Provide technical assistance to sales, customer service and customers for the safe handling, packaging, storage, and treatment of materials.

Provide technical support to receiving, shipping and other operations departments.
Actively works to reduce costs associated with the disposal/processing of material.
Oversee, delegate, train, onboard and manage direct reports.
Provide technical support, train and supervise field and operations personnel in containerized waste packaging (i.E. packing types, charge sizes and container standards) to meet disposal standards and process technology requirements of Veolia and third-party facilities.
