Job Description
The Applications Engineer ensures Bosch Rexroth products are applied correctly to meet the customer’s requirements/specifications, which includes completing a technical analysis of machine and application requirements. This position is also a technical liaison between customers and other departments;
including training and support to end users. This position will be both mechanically, and electrically focused. It will be mechanically focused on the Bosch Rexroth Assembly, and Linear technology product portfolio, and will be electrically focused on the Bosch Rexroth Electric Drives and Controls technology portfolio. This position also requires a wide variety of engineering and hands on skills to complete in-house prototype and R&
D project builds.
This engineering role will also cross over into all divisions of Bosch Rexroth products and services.
The Application Engineer will travel overnight (up to 25%) to customer locations, other Bosch locations and trade fairs. In addition, this candidate must demonstrate the ability to make decisions on short notice which may have an effect on sales success, and exercise tact and diplomacy in communicating effectively with customers, executives,colleagues and employees. The position will be required to prioritize and handle several projects and tasks simultaneously.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical liaison between customers and other division departments as well as supporting local sales efforts
Provide technical support to Western region
Review customer applications, develop solutions and communicate those unique selling points both internally and externally
Provide start up assistance at the customer location from time to time.
Work with other departments to provide integration of Bosch Rexroth products
Conduct product training for representatives and customers
