Rapsodo Inc. is a sports analytics company that uses computer vision and machine learning to help all athletes maximize their performance. Our proprietary technology applications range from helping PGA Tour golfers optimize their launch conditions to allowing MLB pitchers to increase the efficiency of their breaking balls. Current partners include all 30 MLB teams, MLB players, USA Baseball, Golf Digest, PGA of America, and over 1,000 NCAA athletic departments.
As Rapsodo continues to grow and expand our business internationally, we are looking for a hands-on and driven Analytics Intern with a passion for collaborating and making a difference. The successful incumbent will have the unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, established, sports technology company.
Requirements
Monitor various data rates across all Rapsodo practice products (independently and aggregate).
Build dashboards on Kibana to show status to business and other units
Review data failures to determine potential causes and communicate findings with computer vision engineers to help them fix the problems
For the recorded data, build data mining framework to find outliers and bad data by using strategies founded in statistics, mathematics, and physics
Participate in testing new packages to understand if previously found problems have been solved or if there are further improvements needed
Analyze large data sets to produce various marketing and sales materials as well as further enhance the customer experience with Rapsodo products
Experience &
Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, etc.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
Experience in data manipulation, cleaning, and preprocessing techniques
Knowledge in statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and experiment design
Familiarity with a broad range of machine learning algorithms, techniques, and libraries
Experience in creating compelling data visualizations
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage large data sets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders with diverse backgrounds and nationalities
An inquisitive mindset, coupled with a desire for continuous learning and growth
Strong knowledge/experience with baseball and associated data points
Located in the Greater St. Louis area
