Analyst, NA Customs Regulatory &
Execution
Role Summary:

This position plays a crucial role in the successful execution of ONE s NA Customs regulatory compliance strategy. This is achieved through:
Performing tactical activities within the scope of the compliance arena. This includes, but is not limited to US General Order, Manifest Update and Resubmission for Port Change/Omission, Return to Origin Cargo, Misdeclared Empty, Jones Act/Prematurely Landed. Providing operational support to various cross-functional teams. Performing data audits &
analytics to identify process or system enhancements needed. Assisting the team Supervisor in the design, development, and implementation of policy/procedure to ensure compliance with US/CA customs regulatory requirements. Managing the NA Customs Penalty process. Participating in Business Continuity/System Outage Contingency planning. Strengthening relationships with US/CA customs entities and driving regulatory, policy, and systemic changes that benefit the Vessel Operating community. This position will require schedule flexibility (some after-hours and weekend availability), and possible travel 1-2 times per year.
Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support internal customers with US &
    CA customs process and policy questions.
  • Includes but not limited to On &
    OffShore BKG &
    DOC teams, OnShore Carrier and Port Ops teams, Offshore Manifest teams, NA &
    Regional Business Process IT team heads.
  • Use internal tools to monitor import and export shipments to ensure compliance with policy and regulations, both domestic and foreign.
  • Analyze and audit report results, and escalate for resolution. Collaborate with leadership on Root
  • Cause Analysis and Corrective Action recommendations
  • Act swiftly and objectively in investigating critical incidents in which the Company may have failed to meet regulatory requirements, expand scope, and collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Monitor and analyze US/CA customs regulatory changes. Collaborate with leadership on system, process, and policy changes needed to ensure compliance.
  • Leverage existing relationships with customs at national and port level to strengthen alliances and mitigate risk and penalty occurrences.
  • Research penalties issued by US CBP and/or CBSA, and prepare mitigation letters as necessary.
  • Maintain a central database for customs penalty monitoring. Prepare reports for impacted teams to use in assessing root causes and improvement actions.

Function Specific Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Advanced skills using Excel &
    Google Sheets for data management and analysis.
  • Strong skills using Data Studio or other Dashboard tool for reporting &
    KPI.
  • Strong skills using PowerPoint &
    Google Slides for creating and delivering presentations.
  • Understanding of US CBP and CBSA regulatory requirements for ocean carriers.
  • High level of accuracy in data input and management.


Required Minimum Years Experience:

  • 1 2 function-related


Required Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor s Degree Preferred
