Job Description
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and reconciling bank statements. They perform a range of general clerical, accounting, and bookkeeping support functions in an organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accurately enter financial data into accounting systems and databases.
Prepare and send invoices to clients, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Work with Accounts Payable processing and verifying invoices for payment.
Prepare checks, and ensure timely payment of bills.
Work with Accounts Receivable tracking incoming payments, post receipts, and follow up on overdue accounts.
Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and other financial documents.
Review and process employee expense reports for reimbursement.
Maintain organized and accurate financial records and files.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and information.
Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies and answer queries.
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles.
Provide general administrative support, including filing, faxing, and copying.
Overtime Authorization and Requirement - Unauthorized approval in advance of working overtime and repeated refusal to work overtime are violations of company policy.
