POSITION SUMMARY
ZEST Prep is seeking a school After School Teacher to join its ASP support team. In this role, The Afterschool Teacher will play a critical role in the delivery of a high quality ASP program, by working closely with community-based organizations, parents, school staff, and other stakeholders to create an infrastructure that will sustain an integrated system of services, partnerships, and programs that meet the specific needs of the school.
This position is a safety-sensitive position.
JOB EXPECTATIONS

Planning, preparing, and implementing an approved curriculum.
Overseeing daily lesson plans and activities that focus on developing children’s social and motor skills.
Assisting children with assignments and homework, such as reading, writing, and math,
Preparing learning materials and equipment, such as books, arts and crafts, stationary, and other supplies as needed.
Interacting with students to provide guidance, emotional support, and motivation to complete tasks.
Maintaining an organized and clean after school environment and ensuring students conduct themselves appropriately.
Ensuring that all school wide expectations, policies, and guidelines are adhered to during ASP.
Additional Requirements
Previous exposure to or experience in the education sector.
Ability to foster a fun and safe environment conducive to learning.
Strong knowledge of child behavior and learning patterns.
Ability to work with children and remain friendly, calm, and patient at all times.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good analytical and problem solving skills.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or General Education
Proven 2-3 years of relevant experience working with K-4th grade students
School based experience (Highly preferred)
Bi-lingual (Highly preferred)
Requires, but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. Position may require the movement of shipments up to 30 pounds.
