1302-Lamination Manager

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Lead operations in the Lamination area that includesmanaging a team(one or more process engineers and an hourly production team) responsible for runninga coating/finishing production lineandfour laminators.
2.Provide safety leadership at the Kernersville plant with special attention to the assigned area.
3.Lead monthly safety trainings and follow up on safety projects in theLaminationdepartment.
4.Maintain a positive and professional workplace in the Laminationdepartment.
5.Follow up with associatesregularlyto ensure compliance with establishedwork instructions andquality procedures.
6.Identify and drive continuous improvement in theLamination area.
7.Coordinatewith the Quality Department to control the release of 1stquality product, using the established manufacturing review board process.
8.With theQualifydepartment, reviewsupplier issues andcustomer complaintstodevelop root cause and preventive measures.
9.Work with Production Planning to ensure on-time delivery and promote efficientschedule optimization.
10.Control and reduce total product cost(optimizingyield, speed / efficiency, labor, raw materials, supplies, and packaging).
11.Work with support areas(Planning, Warehouse, Mixing, Maintenance, and Lab)to optimize the lamination process.
12.Responsible for maintaining and reporting KPI’s and other metrics to the plant controller and plant management.
13.React quickly and with a high sense of urgency when dealing with safety, personnel, quality, and production problems.
14.Coordinate with Sales to maintain and grow our customer base.
15.Work with development and sales on the development / manufacturing feasibility of new products/processes.
Requirements
5+ years of Management experience with coatings/finishing production lines
Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives
